STS-103 우주왕복선 미션의 대장인 Stevem L. Smith가 1999년 허블 우주망원경의 수리 임무에서 원격 조종 장치의 끝단부 다리고정식 이동판 위에서 전력장치를 교체하였다.

STS-103 payload commander Steven L. Smith retrieved a power tool while standing on the mobile foot restraint at the end of the remote manipulator system during a Hubble servicing mission in 1999.
